Chalssie's Genre

Hello There! Welcome to Chalssie's Genre. I'm Chalssie, originally from the sweet state of North Carolina. I now live in Texas and I am so in love with this new state! I'm a lover of God, people, experiences, adventures, cultures as well as just being at home, inside and cozied up!

I was led to create a platform that embraces encouragement and life through Jesus. My passion is centered around a desire to see people walk into and thrive in their very own, unique God-given purpose.

A little back story about myself, in my early 20's, I experienced my prespective of rock bottom. At that time, I found myself depleted and in a very broken place. I was angry, lonely, ashamed and lost. For the first time, I had to come face to face with myself and who I thought I had become. I recounted all of the decisions and experiences that led me to the place that I was in. I honestly believed that there was no purpose for my life. All that I could think about was the time that I thought I lost chasing the things of this life and all of the work within myself that needed to be done.

In the midst of my loneliness, I remember it like it was yesterday; I began to call out to the Lord. In that time of surrender, I experienced a true, personal encounter with God. His presence was so familiar, the pursing was familiar. He met me right where I was.

Growing in my relationship with God, I've come to understand that transparency begins the healing process and opens the door to freedom! Since that moment, my life has been full of hills and valleys, but through it all I have recognized that He has been the one, true constant. I look forward to sharing my identity in Christ as well as my insight on culture and lifestyle. I invite you to come along on this journey with me; we're just getting started!
